Operational Excellence, Built on Asset Integrity

Validus Integrity Oil Services (VIOS) is an independent asset integrity and reliability engineering consultancy. We help oil and gas operators keep onshore and offshore facilities safe, reliable and fit for continued service. Asset integrity is our core discipline; reliability engineering, process safety, inspection and turnaround support, and competent people are delivered around it as one coordinated service.

Sound Assets Are the Foundation of a Sound Operation

VIOS is an independent, vendor-neutral asset integrity and reliability engineering consultancy based in Egypt. We support oil and gas operators, principally within the EGPC ecosystem and the wider region, across the asset lifecycle: from design review and commissioning through operation, turnaround and life extension.

The company is organised around one proposition. An operation cannot be excellent if its equipment is not fit for service, its major accident hazards are not controlled, its maintenance does not follow risk, and its people are not competent for the work they do. Our service lines follow directly from that.

We keep the portfolio focused. Each service is built on recognised codes and recommended practices, delivered by certified engineers, and documented so that every conclusion can be traced back to its technical basis.

  • Standards First

Every method we apply is traceable to a recognised code, standard or recommended practice. Where a client specification applies, it governs.

  • Evidence over Opinion

Conclusions follow from inspection data, operating history and engineering assessment, and the reasoning is recorded with them.

  • Effort in Proportion to Risk

Resources are directed where the risk is highest. We do not propose work that the risk profile of the asset does not justify.

  • Accountable Delivery

Each engagement has a named technical lead, an agreed scope, defined deliverables and a clear point of acceptance.

The VIOS Operational Excellence Model

Operational excellence rests on asset integrity. Reliability and maintenance engineering, process safety, inspection and turnaround support, and competent people stand on that foundation and together deliver safe, reliable and compliant operation. A management system spanning leadership, risk, performance and learning governs every layer.

Service Lines

Five service lines, delivered as one. Each can be engaged on its own, or combined into a managed programme under a single technical lead.

All service lines apply to onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities.

How We Deliver

The same four-stage cycle applies whether we are running a study, managing a programme, placing a specialist or delivering a course. It follows the plan-do-check-act structure of ISO 55001, so our outputs fit into an existing management system rather than sitting beside it.

  1. Define

Agree the objective, boundaries, applicable codes and client specifications, and the acceptance criteria for each deliverable.

  2. Assess

Collect design, operating and inspection data, walk down the facility, and identify credible threats, hazards and gaps.

  3. Implement

Produce the plans, procedures and technical outputs, or deploy the personnel, needed to close the gaps. Technical outputs are checked by a second competent engineer before issue.

  4. Sustain

Track performance against agreed indicators, review at defined intervals, and feed the findings back into the programme.

Ways to Engage Us

  • Discrete Studies

Fixed-scope technical studies with defined deliverables, such as an RBI study, a HAZOP or a fitness-for-service assessment.

  • Managed Programmes

Ongoing responsibility for a defined integrity, inspection or maintenance programme, with periodic reporting against agreed KPIs.

  • Technical Secondment

Individual specialists or teams working within the client organisation, to the client's procedures, including owner’s engineer support for projects and contractor oversight.

  • Call-Off Support

Mobilisation of personnel or specialist input at short notice under a framework agreement.

Onshore and Offshore Facilities

Our services apply to upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas assets, and to the utilities and support systems that keep them running.

Onshore

  • Oil and gas production and processing facilities
  • Gas processing and treatment plants
  • Refineries, petrochemical, fertiliser and methanol plants
  • Crude and product storage terminals and tank farms
  • Transmission pipelines, pumping and compressor stations
  • Utilities, flare and support systems

Offshore

  • Fixed production and wellhead platforms
  • Topsides process, utility and safety systems
  • Floating production, storage and offloading units (topsides)
  • Subsea and offshore pipelines and risers
  • Jackets and offshore support structures

Across the Asset Lifecycle

Integrity is established at design, verified at commissioning and sustained through each operating and turnaround cycle until the asset is retired.

  1. Stage 1

    Design Review

Materials selection, corrosion allowance and inspectability review, HAZID and HAZOP.

  2. Stage 2

    Construction and Commissioning

Welding and coating inspection, ITPs, baseline inspection, integrity data capture and pre-startup safety review.

  3. Stage 3

    Operation

RBI, integrity operating windows, inspection and maintenance programmes, reliability improvement and process safety.

  4. Stage 4

    Turnaround

Scope definition, inspection execution and readiness review before restart.

    Repeats Each Operating Cycle
  5. Stage 5

    Life Extension

Remaining life, fitness-for-service, rerating and ageing assessment.

  6. Stage 6

    Decommissioning

Positive isolation, hazard identification and residual risk management.

What You Can Expect from Us

We would rather be judged on how we work than on what we claim. These commitments apply to every engagement, whatever its size.

  • Senior Technical Involvement

A qualified senior engineer directs and reviews the technical content of every engagement.

  • Scope Agreed in Writing

Scope, assumptions, exclusions and deliverables are written down before work starts. Changes are agreed before they are made.

  • Independent Judgement

Findings reflect the condition of the asset and the evidence available, not the prospect of follow-on work.

  • Verified Competence

Personnel are deployed only after their qualifications, certifications and experience have been checked against the role.

  • Safety before Schedule

Anyone working for VIOS may stop work they believe to be unsafe, without penalty.

  • Confidentiality

Client data, drawings and findings are held in confidence and used only for the purpose of the engagement.
